Iz studija Metallice, dečki službeno javljaju da već nekoliko tjedana pišu i skladaju, te da se uz sve to i dobro zabavljaju. Konačno je i službeno potvrđeno da se producent Rick Rubin (Slayer, Audioslave, System of a Down...) često nalazi u studiju, te preslušava neke nove stvari koje dečki skladaju. Službeno je objavljeno isto tako da će sam Rick i producirati novi album Metallice, s čime su članovi benda oduševljeni.

METALLICA - ESCAPE FROM THE STUDIO

Iako su najavljivali da će ova godina biti rezervirana isključivo za stvaranje i snimanje, Metallica nije izdražala i ipak će nas počastiti s nekoliko velikih koncerata. Što se tiče metal koncerata, ljeto u Europi uvijek izazove opću ludnicu, pa su općepoznate legende ipak odlučile uveličati nekoliko, kako kažu: "Najluđih festivala na svijetu".Tako nešto napravili su i 1995. kada su na kratko prekinuli snimanje albuma "Load". Ovaj put punom parom se odvija snimanje novih pjesama koje će se naći na nasljedniku albuma "St. Anger" iz 2003. Koliko su dečki bili udubljeni u posao, pokazuje činjenica da su zadnje vrijeme odsvirali samo kratak koncert na Sundance Festivalu, prvi nakon dva prošlojesenska otvaranja koncerta za velike The Rolling Stonese.
